A GenCon recap

It was an incredibly busy and exhausting four days of gaming, but Fowers Games came away from GenCon excited about the industry and the future of our company.

We had an amazing reception at the conference this year, meeting with fans and interacting with media. We had a chance to show off some of our upcoming games, including Hardback, the Paperback expansion and, of course, Now Boarding and Wok Star.

We also had a great turnout for the Fugitive tournament, with some really high-level play being shown off. We came up with a great way to make an asymmetrical game fair in a tournament setting, using a points system in the round robin and a head-to-head in the elimination phase.

Long-time supporter Sam Maho, who has been playing the game since early prototypes, managed to come away with the $300 top prize, losing in the first round to the man he would eventually take on in the finals. And of course, the trophies were mini briefcases.

If you missed us at GenCon, fret not. Fowers Games will be at a number of conferences and conventions in the next few months. The first will be Austin Games Conference September 21 - 22, where Tim will be speaking. Tim will again be speaking at the SHUX conference, put on by Shut Up & Sit Down, in Vancouver B.C. on October 6 - 8. Finally, Fowers Games will be at Essen for Spiel '17 to meet our European Fans, October 26 - 29. We will also have a booth at Spiel, so make sure to come by booth 8A118 to say hello.

We look forward to seeing all of our great at conventions over the next month.
